Welcome to Ubud Monkey Forest, where ancient temples meet cheeky, banana-loving residents! Nestled in the heart of Bali, this lush sanctuary isn’t just a tourist hotspot—it’s a full-on jungle adventure where hundreds of long-tailed macaques rule the land.
Forget polite introductions—these monkeys run the place! As you step into their domain, expect curious eyes, sneaky paws, and the occasional monkey attempting to “borrow” your sunglasses. They’re cute, clever, and masters of mischief, so keep your snacks well-hidden unless you want a furry friend climbing onto your shoulder!
Beyond the playful primates, the Monkey Forest is home to mystical Balinese Hindu temples covered in moss, adding to the jungle’s enchanted feel. The Pura Dalem Agung temple, dedicated to Shiva, stands as an ancient guardian over the sacred site, while stone dragon statues and vine-covered ruins make it feel straight out of an Indiana Jones movie.
Sprawling across 27 acres, this forest is more than just a monkey playground—it’s a biodiversity haven filled with towering banyan trees, jungle vines, and hidden pathways leading to serene rivers and ancient bridges. The fresh jungle air and the sound of chattering monkeys create a real-life nature soundtrack that feels miles away from the hustle of Ubud.
The Ubud Monkey Forest isn’t just a sightseeing stop—it’s an experience filled with adventure, culture, and a whole lot of monkey business. Whether you’re a nature lover, an animal enthusiast, or just looking for a fun, wild day out, this jungle paradise is guaranteed to leave you with unforgettable memories (and maybe a few hilarious monkey selfies).

a month agoVisiting the Monkey Forest in Ubud feels like stepping into an enchanted world where wild nature meets Balinese spirituality. This place is more than just a forest—it’s a sanctuary where hundreds of macaques roam freely among ancient temples and lush greenery. From the moment you enter, you can feel the unique energy. Towering, ancient trees envelop the pathways, and the sounds of birds singing blend with the playful calls of the monkeys. The moss-covered temples seem to breathe history and tradition, making it impossible not to feel completely immersed in the mystical atmosphere. The monkeys are the undeniable stars of the show: curious, lively, and absolutely charming. Watching them move freely is a privilege. Sure, you might lose a pair of sunglasses or a hat to their sneaky antics, but it’s all part of the experience and adds a touch of comedy to your visit! The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to share tips on how to (or how not to) interact with the monkeys, ensuring everyone’s safety. I highly recommend visiting early in the morning when the sunlight filters through the trees, creating breathtaking shadows, and the monkeys are particularly active. In a nutshell: a place that leaves a mark on your heart—a wild and cultural dive into Bali’s soul. An unforgettable experience not to be missed!

a month agoThis is a nice oasis on a hot, sunny day. You can have a wonderful walk in nature in the midst of interesting monkeys. There is an option to have the park staff photograph you with a monkey on your lap. All very well organized and maintained. You decide if paying money to walk with monkeys is good value.

a month agoWe had a great time at the Sacred Monkey Forest even though was raining. The staff are friendly and dedicate to visitor safety and animal welfare. Fascinating environment, vibrant atmosphere and special vibes. Affordable price. Monkeys are adorable, some of them are cheeky and others friendly, except for the big one . Follow the rules to protect this Sanctuary. Recommend! You must visit Sacred Monkeys Forest Sanctuary at least once.
